Hi, I am a computer science teacher located in Bristol. I currently work in a secondary school but would be interested in doing some tutoring. I can tutor computer science, philosophy, and politics, both of which I hold to degree-level. I can cover all the aforementioned subjects up to A-Level. I would also be happy to tutor philosophy at degree level, since I hold a masters in the subject. Lessons would be bespoke to student needs, and I would be happy to set homework and mark it if that would be helpful! A bit about me: my hobbies are reading philosophy books and hanging out with my four cats, Viktor, Nico, Ember and Merlyn. I'm currently tutoring them in not scratching the furniture, but I must confess it isn't going particularly well.

Reviews for Computer Science Tutors in Herefordshire

5.0

Tom's confidence and positivity have massively improved since he has been having tutoring sessions with you. It is brilliant that he has your support with his NEA project, that you can teach him topics that he has missed through his illness and that you can help him prepare/ revise for his A-Level exam. He was getting very disillusioned with Computer Science before he had you and felt that his goal of going to university to do a Computer Science / Software engineering degree was unattainable. He very much enjoys his sessions with you. He says that you are easy to talk to and he feels very comfortable being with you. Tom like's the fact that he can send you work that he is doing/ things that he is stuck on as and when needed, for you both to resolve together in the next session. You explain things clearly and help him to find his own solutions. As the NEA project coding needs to be done by early November, he might need to have two lessons a week for some weeks before this deadline. We hope this is ok with you. We'll let Tom decide as to when he needs extra lessons and arrange this with you. Thank you for everything that you are doing for Tom. We feel very relieved and grateful that he has your help. He has had a massive struggle (physically and mentally) with his ME/CFS for nearly 6 years now and has gone from bed-bound/ in a wheelchair to managing 6th form college on a reduced timetable. I think that your help will give him that extra boost and enable him to see that he does have a future (he hasn't previously thought this). Many thanks, Vivienne Mrs Culpeper

Teachers to your home was a great way for us to organise shared tuition between our daughter and her two friends for their Computer Science GCSE. Peter Burnett was able to assess their prior knowledge and plan, in agreement with the girls, a focus for each session. He was really clear about exactly what they needed to know. We would definitely recommend. Mrs Wild

Peter has been a great tutor. My daughters knowledge of computing GCSE has vastly increased as has her confidence in the subject making approaching the actual exam a lot easier. Initially identifying gaps in knowledge to an overall review of the whole syllabus. Also been very accommodating with any changes in times needed to weekly lessons for other activities and half term. I would very much recommend. Mrs Sam Morris

Adrian developed an excellent tutoring relationship with my son, all delivered online, which ultimately led to him increasing his grade and securing a grade B at A-Level Business Studies. I highly recommend him. Mr Charles Moore

Tuition with a qualified Computer Science teacher at your home in Herefordshire costs from £46.00 ph. Online tuition with a qualified Computer Science teacher costs from £40.00 ph. Create your own small tuition group and Computer Science tuition costs from £17.50 ph.

Because we only ever work with qualified and experienced Computer Science teachers in Herefordshire, you will always get a highly experienced teacher who is safe, reliable and up to speed with the current curriculum and exam requirements. There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our Computer Science teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a Computer Science tutor coming to your home in Herefordshire to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the Computer Science tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the Computer Science tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the Computer Science tutor is required to travel to your home, in Herefordshire. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your Computer Science tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your Computer Science tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of Computer Science tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group Computer Science tuition in Herefordshire depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
