Reviews for ADHD Tutors in Leicester

We found Laura to be an amazing tutor for our daughter who has complex learning needs. We had just started navigating home education and all the trauma that goes with breaking away from conventional schooling. We were also in a very upsetting time for our daughter who was struggling to adjust to a new way of schooling. So when Laura joined and fit in immediately we were all so relieved. We found Laura to be exceptionally patient and kind, very generous with her time (organising trips to the library or educational visits somewhere) which meant a tremendous amount to us. But for our daughter, she did become a firm favourite, and Laura was able to adapt her style of teaching to suit the way our daughter learned. This is so important to engage with a child with SEN, understanding how they learn and understanding when to push and when not to. Laura really went above and beyond to connect with our daughter, and set her up so well for learning in a new environment. We couldnt recommend Laura highly enough, and any child who has her support and tutoring is an exceptionally lucky one. Lucy Wright

ADHD Tutor in Leicester

I am a self-employed Mathematics Tutor who has recently worked in an outstanding world-class school and worked with children in alternative education. I have experience with children with behavioural issues, SEND, and secondary school children (1116). I have found that my teaching in mainstream education is restrained due to the constraints and tickbox exercises that teachers are subject to. Therefore, I decided to set up a tutoring business where I can teach freely, utilising the skills I have developed through my experience and training. I am an open individual committed to ensuring that the session's students align with the parent and child's values and beliefs. I firmly believe that one size does not fit all and, having decided to live an alternative lifestyle on a narrow boat, I appreciate the value and need for non-standard approaches when it comes to enriching a child's life with education.

ADHD Tutor in Leicester

I have been teaching in local primary schools for over 20 years and am particularly experienced in teaching KS1 children. I also have my own young-ish family and have taught part-time since 12 years ago, alongside some supply teaching in KS2. I am experienced in private tutoring, both with groups and 1:1 in the home setting. My lessons are planned for and adapted to each childs learning style, personality, and current level of need, with enough challenges to learn quickly and gain confidence while being fun and engaging. Feedback to parents is an important part of my role, demonstrating progress and clear goals - feedback from parents is also essential and always warmly welcomed.

I am a qualified and experienced teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience, mainly within Key Stage Two. My recent teaching role was in Year 6 preparing children for their SATs, despite the tests, I have always strived to make learning enjoyable. It is important to focus on what works for the child; a child-centred approach allows them to set the pace and work with their interests and skills to foster new ones. I have experience with children with various educational needs and understand that an individual approach is essential. There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our ADHD teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves an ADHD tutor coming to your home in Leicester to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the ADHD tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the ADHD tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the ADHD tutor is required to travel to your home, in Leicester. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your ADHD tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your ADHD tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of ADHD tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group ADHD tuition in Leicester depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
