Because we believe that qualified and experienced teachers provide the highest quality of tuition. Our teachers are subject-specialists, professional, energetic and up-to-date with an ever-changing curriculum and the current requirements of exam boards and specifications.

Our teachers can teach the full range of academic subjects from Primary, Junior and Prep School levels through to Secondary, GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A levels. We can make a perfect match to your tutoring needs. Our teachers can provide academic challenge for children who do not find this at their school or support those who have missed out on some of their learning, whether through illness; absence; a lack of understanding at school or a lack of effort. A short, direct and intensive course of lessons can have a profound impact on an individual's performance and confidence.

How do you find me a teacher?

We have a large team of 20,000+ qualified and experienced teachers across the UK. Once we know your requirements, we will contact our relevant teachers to see who is immediately available for tuition. We will then personally select a shortlist of those that best match your requirements, and we commit to sending you this shortlist within 24 hours.

How do I interview potential teachers?

Once you have received your teacher shortlist, you can review their profiles and select the teachers you would like to interview. You can choose to interview any or all of the shortlisted teachers. Once you have made your selection, the teachers will contact you to arrange an introductory call. This guide will help you through that conversation.

What if I don't hear from the teacher?

In the rare case that your teacher does not make contact with you within 48 hours, please let us know and we will follow up and make contact for you. Alternatively, you will also have received the teacher's contact details, and you can reach out to them directly.

Do you offer group teaching?

The majority of our tuition is one-to-one, but our teachers do offer small group tuition at an extra £8 per student.

Question 6

What if you have no available teachers?

Accepted Answer

Occasionally, we do not have any available face-to-face teachers for your subject and year group. You will have the option to go on our waiting list. Alternatively, we can look for an online teacher, for which we can guarantee availability.

Question 7

What do I do if I am not happy with the teachers offered?

We try to select the best teachers that meet your tuition requirements and that are available. However, we know that sometimes they may not be the right fit for you or your child. If this happens, please come back to us with further detailed information about what you are looking for, and we can look again for more suitable options.

Question 8

How do I set up my account?

Once your first lesson has taken place, we will send you an email to set up your account with us. You will be able to add your payment details, view, approve or query your teacher's lesson, update your contact details and message your teacher through the system.

How do I approve lessons?

Accepted Answer

You can see each lesson logged by your teacher in your account, under timesheets. You can then approve each lesson or query it, if you disagree with the lesson details. If you query a lesson, no charge will be taken, until the query has been resolved. If you choose not to approve or query any of your lessons through the month then they will be assumed to have been approved for payment and charged to the billing details you have provided us. This is to ensure that our teachers get paid on time for the lessons they have given for the month.

How do I pay?

Once you have set up your account, you will need to add your card details under the settings tab. Tuition payment is made automatically at the end of each month for any lessons not queried throughout that month. Your monthly invoices are then stored in your account for your own records, which you can view, download, and print at any time.

Is the hourly rate negotiable?

Our fees are always agreed upfront with the teacher, so they are non-negotiable. The tuition cost covers two things - it pays the teacher fairly for their work, and any expenses, and it pays us to cover our processing fees and business costs. Please see our tuition fees page for more information

Are there any upfront fees?

Accepted Answer

There are no upfront fees - you only pay for the lessons you have with the teacher, at the end of each month.

Question 13

What is your lesson cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

We do not set cancellation policies for our teachers – they determine this themselves and you will need to discuss this with them during the initial conversation. However, we ask that you give reasonable notice should you need to cancel a lesson. Most of our teachers expect 24 hours notice, though understand that this is not always possible (e.g. last-minute illness). Of course, this arrangement is mutual and also applies if the teacher needs to cancel a lesson too. Please agree with your teacher on the best way to communicate any last-minute changes (e.g. text, email, whatsapp).

How do you ensure safeguarding?

You can ask your teachers to bring along documentation to their first meeting with you, such as proof of qualifications, a DBS number and references. To provide a further level of safeguarding, we also require our teachers to teach your child in a supervised setting, with a responsible adult, such as yourself, present in the home at all times.

Is there somewhere I can connect to other families who use your services?

We have set up a community of families and teachers on Facebook, where you can ask questions and get additional support for your child's studies. For example, we run a book of the week, and many parents use the group to get advice about their child's education.
