Reviews for tutors in Glasgow

Zara is flourishing. With every lesson there is clear improvement in her confidence and happiness. Great to have you on board. Simon M
Glasgow

Malcolm has been an excellent support with our daughters maths tuition from starting secondary school during covid, up until the end of her third year. His knowledge, patience and experience are second to none. Lessons have never been pressured or rushed, with him always working at a pace that suits my daughter. At the start of each lesson, he will discuss what she would like to work on and ensure that it is in line with her school work. He regularly checks for her understanding and quickly picks up on anything she is struggling with. Thoughtfully going on to review and reword the process wherever necessary, until she is happy to move on. Her marks have greatly improved, and she now regularly achieves over 80% in tests. More importantly, he has helped her develop an enjoyment in Maths and more confidence in what shes doing. Keep up the great work Malcolm. Thank you! Mrs L
Glasgow

My daughter has been receiving Maths assistance with Malcolm for over two years. He keeps her attention and interest during tuition, even after a full day at school! Always friendly and professional, he is clearly an excellent Mathematician and teacher. His natural enthusiasm and praise while working on different topics leaves her keen to continue practising long after the lesson has ended. He is happy to revise any area she needs help with and will review back over what has been covered at the end of each session... which even helps me get a better understanding of things!! I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Malcolm. Thanks for an excellent service. Mr D

I was delighted with the result! My son was failing his National 5 Maths. And his exam was in six weeks time! Mr Armstrong had a great method. And within just weeks instead of failing my son got a B in his final - thank you so much! Mother Of Dunblane Student

I am a retired Scottish teacher with a fast and effective method to raise grades dramatically! I specialise in National 5 maths specifically. And I have developed a very fast and easy-to-use revision method in my lessons. Which students learn fast with. Exam Papers are the key to success. I have prepared a special bank of these, designed for speed and ease. It takes all the hard work of students to succeed. I have encouraged and enabled failing students to get A's and B's. One mum in the Stirling area was delighted when I was able to transform her son's maths results in a matter of weeks. He was failing and went from failing to a grade B in just six weeks.

There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a teacher coming to your home in Glasgow to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the tutor is required to travel to your home, in Glasgow. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group tuition in Glasgow depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
