Not every child needs a tutor, but there are many scenarios where tuition will be beneficial. The obvious is if a child is not attending school for whatever reason. If they are at school, a tutor may be needed to stop a student from falling behind, which can lead to disillusionment or behavioural issues, or to get back on track after a poor end-of-year exam result. If a specific learning difficulty or Special Educational Need (SEN) is identified, then tuition can provide a vital reinforcement.
For high stakes exams, such as 11+, Common Entrance (often 13+), GCSE and A-Level or IB tuition can provide that final boost to get over the line, stretch to reach the top grades required for the next stage of education or assist with specific exam techniques that may not be taught at school.
