Tutor in Braintree

Hello, my name is Lizzie and I am an enthusiastic primary teacher with experience in both KS1 and KS2. I have been teaching for 4 years and have 3 years tutoring experience. I got into teaching after working in homeless shelters and coaching young people through challenging times. It was through mentoring GCSE students that i decided to embark on a career in teaching and have never looked back. I believe every child should feel success in every lesson and enjoy any content delivered. Boosting children's confidence with positive praise and ensuring learning is fun and purposeful are personal strengths. I break learning into smaller steps, use modelling strategies and ensure children recall and retrieve prior knowledge so it is stored in the long term memory. I cover all primary national curriculum subjects and specialise in English, Maths and Reading.

I am a passionate teacher and have always believed in developing the overall academic skills of my students. As a person, I am friendly, empathetic and understanding personality- that\'s what I have been told by my colleagues, friends and students. As a teacher, I can be assertive when and if I need to be, but I believe in convincing my students to get on the right track rather than using authority. I believe grades can be produced through a mutual working agreement between teacher and students, and you cannot \'make them work\' unless they realise their potential. I like to support people around me and respect their feelings. In short, I see myself as a people\'s person!

Reviews for tutors in Braintree

5.0

Sara provided my son with 1-1 11+ plus tuition over an 8 month period. Sara was always on time for sessions and flexible when we needed to change timings due to clashes with my son's sporting activities. Sara was also more than happy to mark practice papers outside of the sessions and in her own time. My son warmed to Sara immediately and a little unexpectedly, really enjoyed the sessions! He progressed very well over the 8 months and he himself said how the sessions had helped enormously at school, especially when undertaking mock SATs exams. Obviously, the main aim of the sessions was to prepare my son for the 11+ exam. He performed really well and achieved a pleasing result. I am certain he would not have achieved such a good result without Sara's assistance. I therefore highly recommend Sara for all of the above reasons! Mr Watkins

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a teacher coming to your home in Braintree to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the tutor is required to travel to your home, in Braintree. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group tuition in Braintree depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
