I am experienced as a Head of Physics & Science at a large secondary school, teaching GCSE, A-Level and IB-HL&SL Physics. As of 2023, I will have been teaching for over 40 years. I have examined and written exams for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level and the IB. I train teachers to teach physics, and with students across the world, I provide face-to-face support, on-line teaching and revision (at all levels). On a personal note, I would say that probably the most important thing about teaching, is that you are helping our younger generations to grow as responsible people, caring for others and the world we live in. It is important to be a positive role model and to show them that they can be better than they know they can be. This requires care and respect and is something I am deeply passionate about. I believe this is a crucial aspect of what a teacher does and it is part of why I love what I do.

Before this I taught as a qualified science teacher for 10 years. I started teaching online some time before the pandemic and use a variety of software which allows for effective collaboration, lesson recording. Students get clear organised notes, simulations, videos which can be accessed at any time. I also run seminars and training to other tutors on how to teach online effectively. Before my career as a science teacher, I spent 5 years travelling around Asia teaching which is where I learnt my love of teaching to others. I actually really enjoy learning myself and regularly study with Open University to improve my knowledge in many different fields. I believe education is a lifelong process and hope to encourage this in my students - sometimes to their horror!! I think Physics is often perceived as difficult because the ideas are frequently explained poorly. With a good foundation, Physics can grow in complexity, but poor foundations mean frustration and difficulty. My aim is to make students self-confident in their study skills as well as in their specific subject knowledge.

Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions.
