A-Level Physics Tutor

I have tutored Maths, Chemistry and Biology to GCSE, and Physics to A-level for many years. Over the last year I have also started tutoring A-level Chemistry and A-level Maths. Before this I taught as a qualified science teacher for 10 years. I started teaching online some time before the pandemic and use a variety of software which allows for effective collaboration, lesson recording. Students get clear organised notes, simulations, videos which can be accessed at any time. I also run seminars and training to other tutors on how to teach online effectively. Before my career as a science teacher, I spent 5 years travelling around Asia teaching which is where I learnt my love of teaching to others. I then came back to the UK to work in schools as a teaching support assistant for a year and a half before training as a science teacher specialising in Physics. A-Level Physics Tutor

I'm a geeky, enthusiastic physics teacher of 15 years who is passionate about helping students to understand physics and not be scared of it. I've taught a wide range of abilities from ages 10 to 18 and have had excellent results at Common Entrance, Physics GCSE, A-Level, IB Diploma (Higher and Standard), and Oxbridge admissions tutoring. I believe good tutoring requires clear explanations, checking for understanding and misconceptions, and using resources, demonstrations and lots of practice to help the students to realise that yes, they CAN do this and get the grades they want! Physics shouldn't be scary or boring. Students have described me as "approachable" and "easy to understand". For students who are wanting to be challenged and perhaps go beyond the bounds of their current course or prepare for university, I have experience with Gifted and Talented students and enjoy bringing that spark of further knowledge and curiosity to them.

I have experience in teaching and tutoring to a high standard and currently, I am the Deputy Head of Maths at my school. Upon an assessment lesson, I will give you feedback and targets we can work on, with milestones so you are sure your child is making progress.

I train teachers to teach physics, and with students across the world, I provide face-to-face support, on-line teaching and revision (at all levels). On a personal note, I would say that probably the most important thing about teaching, is that you are helping our younger generations to grow as responsible people, caring for others and the world we live in. It is important to be a positive role model and to show them that they can be better than they know they can be. This requires care and respect and is something I am deeply passionate about. I believe this is a crucial aspect of what a teacher does and it is part of why I love what I do.

A-Level Physics Tutor

I have been teaching Physics for the last 35 years and have worked as Head of Physics in a large International school for the last 26 years. I am now based in the UK. I am a fully experienced teacher and an examiner for AQA and CAIE for Advanced Level Physics. I actually really enjoy learning myself and regularly study with Open University to improve my knowledge in many different fields. I believe education is a lifelong process and hope to encourage this in my students - sometimes to their horror!! I think Physics is often perceived as difficult because the ideas are frequently explained poorly. With a good foundation, Physics can grow in complexity, but poor foundations mean frustration and difficulty. My aim is to make students self-confident in their study skills as well as in their specific subject knowledge.

We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves an A-Level Physics tutor coming to your home to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the A-Level Physics tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the A-Level Physics tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the A-Level Physics tutor is required to travel to your home. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your A-Level Physics tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your A-Level Physics tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of A-Level Physics tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group A-Level Physics tuition depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
