Reviews for Religious Studies Tutors in Leicestershire

5.0

Highly recommend. Yasmin is excellent in what she does. My child can be difficult to teach at times but Yasmin is amazing working with her and shes very understanding with her needs and takes it all on board. Mrs Stockwell

I was one of Yasmins longest-serving students. I have had the pleasure of knowing Yasmin since 2019. She tutored me throughout my A Levels, in which we had weekly meetings over a three-year period. During this time, Yasmin and I developed a strong rapport as she helped me with my studies. I always found Yasmin to be a very dedicated tutor. I studied Film Studies, English Language, and English Literature; Yasmin was very knowledgeable when we discussed each subject. Throughout our sessions, she would review the work I had completed and give me pointers on what I could improve. This feedback was vital for me at the time, with Yasmin being my only source of in-depth criticism. I believe that her input significantly contributed to me achieving the grades that led me to university. In addition to this, Yasmin offered a lot of personal support. She listened to any problems or issues I had in my home life as well as in my studies. Her empathetic and understanding nature made a significant difference to my overall well-being and academic motivation. It is my firm belief that Yasmin Plews would be a great asset to any student requiring tutoring. Without her help, I would have struggled much more with my work, motivation, and confidence. I am confident that she will provide this valuable input to all her students, helping them to attain their respective qualifications. Penny Atherton

We first approached Anna when we were looking for advice on how to support our 10-year-old son, who has ADHD and Anxiety Disorder. From the outset, we felt comfortable with Anna. Not only did she listen to us, but she understood and empathised with what we were hoping to achieve, and she respected and acknowledged our concerns. Her manner and suggested approach were ideally aligned with our situation and struck a perfect balance in terms of pace and engagement with our son. However, none of this would have mattered if our son would not accept her. From her first interaction with him, we realised we had nothing to worry about. He instinctively trusted her and responded open to her engagement, listening to what she asked of him and reacting positively to her praise and encouragement. Over the last four months, Anna has built up a rapport with our son built on a foundation of mutual respect and trust. She has a way of helping him to do what he needs to do in a way that avoids confrontation and conflict, reinforces positive learning, and builds up his confidence. This does not mean she does not say no or lets him get away with messing around. It is just that she couches that control and discipline in a way that builds trust and engagement rather than one built on hierarchy and punishment. We cannot recommend Anna highly enough. She has a wealth of experience and expertise but is humble and questioning. More than that, it is crystal clear that her primary aim is to help develop our son and help him achieve his full potential. Put simply, if you are considering additional learning support for a SEND child, you should ask for a meeting with Anna. She is simply superb at what she does, and we are so grateful we found her. I qualified as a primary school teacher in 1993. I I have taught all ages in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2: working in The Channel Islands, London, Bedfordshire and Suffolk in all kinds of schools. I was a former deputy headteacher in a school for children with learning difficulties particularly pupils with ASD. I mainly tutor in English and Mathematics for Key Stage 1 & 2 but occasionally older pupils who need a boost in literacy and numeracy and preparation for SATs.I am also happy to provide catch-up / reinforcement following absence from school. The transition from Primary to Secondary school can challenge some pupils as can moving year groups in Primary - particularly if they are one of the youngest in their year group. As an experienced teacher I can help with gaps in knowledged / preparation for SATs etc. I am more than happy to tutor online using Zoom etc should parents request this. I am currently teaching in a primary school in Houghton Regis Bedfordshire.

Because we only ever work with qualified and experienced Religious Studies teachers in Leicestershire, you will always get a highly experienced teacher who is safe, reliable and up to speed with the current curriculum and exam requirements. There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our Religious Studies teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a Religious Studies tutor coming to your home in Leicestershire to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the Religious Studies tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the Religious Studies tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the Religious Studies tutor is required to travel to your home, in Leicestershire. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your Religious Studies tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your Religious Studies tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of Religious Studies tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group Religious Studies tuition in Leicestershire depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
