Hi, I love helping learners enjoy communicating using different languages and other communicative resources. I have a broad teaching experience, from family home learning to adult community and higher education levels. With specialisms in French and EAL/ESOL, having been head of EAL support at secondary level, and module and exams coordinator for French at university level, I can coach higher level French and English language qualifications for GCSE, A-Level, IELTS University preparation and beyond. I work especially well with learners who use - or would like to use - different languages. I have a fun approach to language learning, and I consider healthy communication a key ingredient in harmonious, peaceful and fulfilling life interactions. I hope we can connect!

Reviews for EFL or ESL Tutors in Lincolnshire

4.9

Sally began tutoring my daughter, Holly, for GCSE Biology in January 2022, just after Holly began her education outside of school programme. From their first meeting, Sally was kind, calm and professional. She took the time to get to know Holly and adapted well to any feedback given about Hollys special educational needs. Their working relationship blossomed through a mutual love of cats, and Holly then asked to study GCSE Chemistry with Sally, in addition to Biology. This posed a potential challenge as Holly had missed yrs 7-9 in chemistry so was effectively starting from scratch. Sally mapped out the GCSE curriculum content to ensure that we could cover all the content in time for Holly to take exams in May/June 2023. Sally was always well prepared for lessons and has an excellent subject knowledge, including about the exam syllabuses, and which topics are covered at GCSE or A Level. Sally was always punctual to lessons and I found her to be completely reliable. Sally was also flexible with her lesson timings, particularly around exam revision, which was so helpful. Sally always encouraged Holly to believe in herself, and her ability. Sally was the predictable and dependable presence that Holly needed each week to enable her to achieve the best she could in science. Holly achieved a Grade 8 in Biology and a Grade 7 in Chemistry, which is astounding when you consider how much secondary schooling she had missed due to illness, before starting lessons with Sally. Sally worked very well as part of Hollys team of tutors, always attending Teaching Team meetings and giving insightful feedback. She also consistently produced comprehensive termly reports on Hollys progress. One of the things I appreciated most about Sally is the care she had for Holly. She would willingly listen to feedback and make any changes needed to best meet Hollys needs and showed seemingly unending patience! I would highly recommend Sally if you are considering a science tutor, either for home education or to complement schooling. Laura

We found Laura to be an amazing tutor for our daughter who has complex learning needs. We had just started navigating home education and all the trauma that goes with breaking away from conventional schooling. We were also in a very upsetting time for our daughter who was struggling to adjust to a new way of schooling. So when Laura joined and fit in immediately we were all so relieved. We found Laura to be exceptionally patient and kind, very generous with her time (organising trips to the library or educational visits somewhere) which meant a tremendous amount to us. But for our daughter, she did become a firm favourite, and Laura was able to adapt her style of teaching to suit the way our daughter learned. This is so important to engage with a child with SEN, understanding how they learn and understanding when to push and when not to. Laura really went above and beyond to connect with our daughter, and set her up so well for learning in a new environment. We couldnt recommend Laura highly enough, and any child who has her support and tutoring is an exceptionally lucky one. Lucy Wright

Ms Mallett has been fantastic to my son and even though my son had to learn all UK school system because we moved from overseas, he caught up with his English quite quickly. He enjoyed every lesson with her and he is now above average in his class. I believe he is fine from here. I have already spoken with Ms Mallett and she supports our decision. I would like to take this opportunity to say tho you for helping my son. Ms Yamada

There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our EFL or ESL teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves an EFL or ESL tutor coming to your home in Lincolnshire to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the EFL or ESL tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the EFL or ESL tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the EFL or ESL tutor is required to travel to your home, in Lincolnshire. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your EFL or ESL tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your EFL or ESL tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of EFL or ESL tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group EFL or ESL tuition in Lincolnshire depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
