Tutor Rotherham

I am a qualified primary school teacher, and I have a passion for passing on knowledge and solidifying children's knowledge hence why I've been in the profession for as long as I have. Knowing that the basics a child has learnt have come from their hard work and everything is possible is such a joy. My teaching style is very practical, using visuals and resources to help children see and envisage their learning, which can then be used in a methodical approach. I have abundant knowledge in teaching ELS and Jolly Phonics as well as talk4writing and following white rose maths schemes. I always personalise and adapt my teaching according to a child's ability. I love to sing and dance, and sometimes if that is what a child need to remember information, then fear not, it's exactly what I will do!

Aishah has really helped my daughter in her maths. She struggles a lot and with Aishah's calm demeanour and patience, my daughter has started to enjoy maths again. Mrs Zeem

Angie is coming on so well at school and it's all thanks to your approach. Miss Katherine

Great communication, explains the work well with my daughter and sets home work Ms Chandler

Brian has been absolutely amazing. He started tutoring my daughter in A-level Chemistry about three months ago, and her confidence has improved immeasurably. Brian's enthusiasm for his subject is evident and his calm, friendly manner put my daughter at ease. Annie actually enjoys Chemistry now and feels ready to sit her A-level exams. Would highly recommend Brian to another student. Keeley P

Highly recommend. Yasmin is excellent in what she does. My child can be difficult to teach at times but Yasmin is amazing working with her and shes very understanding with her needs and takes it all on board. Mrs Stockwell

I was one of Yasmins longest-serving students. I have had the pleasure of knowing Yasmin since 2019. She tutored me throughout my A Levels, in which we had weekly meetings over a three-year period. During this time, Yasmin and I developed a strong rapport as she helped me with my studies. I always found Yasmin to be a very dedicated tutor. I studied Film Studies, English Language, and English Literature; Yasmin was very knowledgeable when we discussed each subject. Throughout our sessions, she would review the work I had completed and give me pointers on what I could improve. This feedback was vital for me at the time, with Yasmin being my only source of in-depth criticism. I believe that her input significantly contributed to me achieving the grades that led me to university. In addition to this, Yasmin offered a lot of personal support. She listened to any problems or issues I had in my home life as well as in my studies. Her empathetic and understanding nature made a significant difference to my overall well-being and academic motivation. It is my firm belief that Yasmin Plews would be a great asset to any student requiring tutoring. Without her help, I would have struggled much more with my work, motivation, and confidence. I am confident that she will provide this valuable input to all her students, helping them to attain their respective qualifications. Penny Atherton

Mrs Kane was really supportive and helpful and helped my daughter with her maths and Spag. She learnt so much and is now feeling a lot more confident to go to the comp as well as doing her SATs . Thank you. Mrs D Wilson

Libby began giving our son extra tutoring in Y11 and for approximately one academic year. Though this was an hour of extra tuition once a week, mainly during term-time, our son found it very useful as this helped him improve from the region of grade 4s/5s in Y10 to 7-9s in Y11. It was very helpful in improving specific aspects of the subject which required more help. It also improved his confidence in the subject. The lessons were online but our son found them similar in quality to in-person lessons. There were a range of different activities, resources and homework. Libby came across, as very organised, evident in term dates and times provided ahead of time and lesson plans for the lessons. She was also professional. I also received feedback, some by request and others from Libby's initiative. I would recommend Libby as a good French tutor if you're looking for tutoring for your child. Mrs D

Libby tutored my daughter before her GCSEs, and I can't recommend her highly enough! She is very professional to deal with, knowledgeable about the subject and a great teacher, as well as patient and supportive to the student. She calmly encouraged S and gave her a boost of confidence and skills, which helped her to gain excellent GCSE results. We are so grateful for her and would definitely recommend her to others. Mrs W

Abby is an extremely knowledgeable teacher who always gives 110% when supporting students. She is an enthusiastic, proactive and wise educator. Miss Bradford

We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a teacher coming to your home in Rotherham to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the tutor is required to travel to your home, in Rotherham. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group tuition in Rotherham depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
