I can tailor lessons according to the individualsneeds. I have a proven track record of ensuring that my pupils make good progress and achieve their full potential. I can teach all subjects covered in the National Curriculum at Primary level, and I can also offer Spanish from KS2 to GCSE. Hi! I am an experienced MFL teacher with over 18 years of experience. I have taught French and Spanish from primary (KS2) up to A-Level for many years. I taught in an international school in Malaysia where I was Head of Spanish and we taught the Cambridge iGCSE curriculum. I am proficient in teaching both GCSE and A-Level AQA specification and inclusion and SEND are always high on my agenda. I have recently finished tutoring a home schooled ASD student with great success. He really benefitted from the lessons tailored to his specific needs. I strongly advocate languages for all, and that language learning can really broaden horizons and open doors to various opportunities and understanding different cultures. I have taught English in both Spain and Italy and I would equally be happy to support a student to improve their English as a Foreign Language. I look forward to hearing from you!

Qualified and experienced French teacher presently teaching secondary schools in Wakefield I also have experience teaching French to primary school pupils and Spanish up to Key Stage 3. I am friendly and build good rapport with pupils from the offset as well as igniting a passion for French culture because once pupils are interested, they tend to enjoy learning the language much more. I have experience preparing pupils for their GCSEs and have worked for a year improving pupils speaking skills and confidence. The results at that school at the end of the year, were the highest in state schools across Wakefield. I have also undertaken roles supporting SEN pupils and am aware of how to make learning accessible to them. Whilst speaking and learning a foreign language can seem initially daunting, I aim to set pupils minds at ease and believe real learning happens by making mistakes and then addressing them by being shown how to. Finally, lessons should be fun and engaging!

When I see a student experiencing that light bulb moment, and growing in confidence whilst enjoying their learning, it is the best feeling ever! This is why I chose tutoring :) So what's in it for you? Having taught for over 16 years, to a range of ages and abilities, I am well qualified and experienced to help you succeed. We can spend your precious time on revisiting topics you found difficult, consolidate your learning by going through exam questions, explore different ways to revise for you to see what works best. I will be using different ways to teach and check what you have learnt. We could even look at a new topic that you have not come across yet to give you a head start and be confident in the classroom. YOUR choice. All this can be achieved because my time will be all centered around YOU and what YOU really need.

A seasoned teacher with 17 years of experience, 15 years teaching in the independent sector. I am Head of Languages at my current school, where I have successfully implemented Spanish throughout the whole school from Nursery to Year 6. I also work in another independent school, preparing pupils for their Common Entrance in French and Spanish. My Spanish results this year were the highest in the school! Many of my pupils have successfully gained places at schools such as Uppingham, Harrow, Oundle and Shrewsbury - to name but a few. My passions lie within language teaching methodology. I use an approach created by Dr Gianfranco Conti in which children learn language more instinctively. I was recently asked to be a guest proofreader on Dr Conti's latest book. I firmly believe everyone can learn a language and learn it well!

French Tuition in West Yorkshire

Libby began giving our son extra tutoring in Y11 and for approximately one academic year. Though this was an hour of extra tuition once a week, mainly during term-time, our son found it very useful as this helped him improve from the region of grade 4s/5s in Y10 to 7-9s in Y11. It was very helpful in improving specific aspects of the subject which required more help. It also improved his confidence in the subject. The lessons were online but our son found them similar in quality to in-person lessons. There were a range of different activities, resources and homework. Libby came across, as very organised, evident in term dates and times provided ahead of time and lesson plans for the lessons. She was also professional. I also received feedback, some by request and others from Libby's initiative. I would recommend Libby as a good French tutor if you're looking for tutoring for your child. Mrs D

Libby tutored my daughter before her GCSEs, and I can't recommend her highly enough! She is very professional to deal with, knowledgeable about the subject and a great teacher, as well as patient and supportive to the student. She calmly encouraged S and gave her a boost of confidence and skills, which helped her to gain excellent GCSE results. We are so grateful for her and would definitely recommend her to others. Mrs W

I am an experienced tutor who has worked with young people of all ages up to 18 in schools, in residential settings and on TV/Film productions. I also work 1 to 1 work with adult dyslexic students at university. I have examined for Edexcel, been a trainer for Teachers TV, and was a secondary head of year and a primary school governor. When not working, I enjoy the theatre, music, walking, gym classes, watching films, etc. As a member of the Dyslexia Guild, which involves extra training and yearly CPD, I am a big advocate for exploring approaches to learning to motivate and engage those for whom academic learning has been a struggle due to barriers to learning such as dyslexia . I have a good sense of humour and believe patience and humour are vital when working one-on-one with young people to make them feel able to show their weaknesses in a session without fear of judgement.

Because we only ever work with qualified and experienced French teachers in West Yorkshire, you will always get a highly experienced teacher who is safe, reliable and up to speed with the current curriculum and exam requirements. There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our French teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a French tutor coming to your home in West Yorkshire to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the French tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the French tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the French tutor is required to travel to your home, in West Yorkshire. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your French tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your French tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of French tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group French tuition in West Yorkshire depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
