Psychology teacher and Principal Examiner. I am a friendly tutor who is very flexible in her approach to ensure that sessions work for every tutee. I have worked in an outstanding Greenhead College for eight years before relocating. I have multiple years of experience, now promoted to Principal Examiner, marking GCSE and A-Level Psychology. I am happy to work on the content, help improve subject knowledge, and focus on exam revision skills acquisition. I have taught most exam boards and my examining experience will come in handy when identifying what is needed to gain marks in the exam and how to avoid the most common mistakes. I have tried and tested resources. I will be able to go through past exam questions and do live marking to give instant feedback on the work so that students can understand exactly how examiners such as myself will mark their responses.

Reviews for Psychology Tutors in Lisburn

Oonagh was fantastic with my son. Understanding and patient and brought a wealth of different strategies. Miss K Devlin
Psychology Tuition in Belfast

I would highly recommend Agata as a psychology tutor. She is currently teaching my son, who is in Year 12 and will be sitting the OCR exams. We tried finding an OCR tutor, which was not easy as this is not a commonly taught board. When we finally managed to find Agata, we were impressed not only at the fact that she is an OCR examiner but also at her delivery of lessons, which has given my son so much confidence and led him to get top marks in his assessments consistently. This has spurred him on to aim for an A star, which really is down to Agata. She goes through the content, linking other topics, which allows for re-revsiing of previous topics, with plenty of exam practice. In addition to this, Agata comes across as a very caring tutor. It is obvious she has a passion for teaching her subject, which is infectious. My son loves psychology, as he recently told me, it is his favourite A-Level! Mrs Awan

Our son just collected his grades and got an A in psychology. Thank you so very much for your tutoring, you are amazing! We are so very grateful. We will of course recommend you highly to our school and all our contacts. Mrs Pasquette

If you are looking for an experienced A level psychology teacher who is able to adapt to the learning style of your child/young person, then Louise is the person. Louise taught additional skills such as study skills. Being a teacher myself, I can recognise a good teacher and my daughter and I were so happy we were lucky enough to have found her. I can highly recommend Louise and she will tutor in the holidays as well if requested. Miss Bohl

Highly recommend. Yasmin is excellent in what she does. My child can be difficult to teach at times but Yasmin is amazing working with her and shes very understanding with her needs and takes it all on board. Mrs Stockwell

I was one of Yasmins longest-serving students. I have had the pleasure of knowing Yasmin since 2019. She tutored me throughout my A Levels, in which we had weekly meetings over a three-year period. During this time, Yasmin and I developed a strong rapport as she helped me with my studies. I always found Yasmin to be a very dedicated tutor. I studied Film Studies, English Language, and English Literature; Yasmin was very knowledgeable when we discussed each subject. Throughout our sessions, she would review the work I had completed and give me pointers on what I could improve. This feedback was vital for me at the time, with Yasmin being my only source of in-depth criticism. I believe that her input significantly contributed to me achieving the grades that led me to university. In addition to this, Yasmin offered a lot of personal support. She listened to any problems or issues I had in my home life as well as in my studies. Her empathetic and understanding nature made a significant difference to my overall well-being and academic motivation. It is my firm belief that Yasmin Plews would be a great asset to any student requiring tutoring. Without her help, I would have struggled much more with my work, motivation, and confidence. I am confident that she will provide this valuable input to all her students, helping them to attain their respective qualifications. Penny Atherton

Ms Ashraf is an exceptional psychology tutor. Her passion for the subject is truly inspiring, and she's a great teacher who explains complex concepts in a way that's easy to understand. She's patient and takes the time to ensure I grasp every topic and how to answer the different question types. I've learned so much from her, and I'm grateful for her guidance and help with my grades. Christabel

Because we only ever work with qualified and experienced Psychology teachers in Lisburn, you will always get a highly experienced teacher who is safe, reliable and up to speed with the current curriculum and exam requirements. There is no excellent learning without excellent teaching, and our Psychology teachers are expected to teach in a way that inspires and motivates. We have over 20,000 talented teachers providing tuition, chosen for their broad range of experience, professionalism, academic specialisms, passion, and dedication to their students. We only ever offer qualified teachers as tutors, as we believe professional teachers provide the highest quality of tuition.

Location
Home Tuition: Involves a Psychology tutor coming to your home in Lisburn to provide one-on-one instruction. This offers convenience as you don't need to travel. Online Tuition: This can take place anywhere with an internet connection. Small Group Tuition: Typically with between 2 to 4 children, and often occurs in a physical location such as your home, though it can also be online.

Individual Attention
Home Tuition: Offers the highest level of individual attention, as the Psychology tutor focuses solely on one student. Online Tuition: Still allows for one-to-one attention, but it may be slightly less personal than home tuition due to potential distractions. Small Group Tuition: Offers less individual attention as the Psychology tutor must divide their time and attention among multiple students.

Cost
Home Tuition: This tends to be more expensive because it involves one-on-one teaching, and the Psychology tutor is required to travel to your home, in Lisburn. Online Tuition: Often more affordable than home tuition as your Psychology tutor does not need to travel but may still cost more than small group tuition. Small Group Tuition: Generally, this is the most cost-effective option, as the costs are shared among several families.

Flexibility
Home Tuition: Offers flexibility in terms of scheduling and curriculum, as your Psychology tutor will only be working with your child. Online Tuition: Provides flexibility in terms of location and may offer a wider selection of Psychology tutors. Small Group Tuition: Lessons will be more difficult to schedule as lesson times will have to fit in with other families.

Interaction
Home Tuition: Offers in-person interaction, which can be beneficial for students who learn better through face-to-face communication. Online Tuition: Provides interaction through video conferencing tools and chat, which can be engaging but may not suit everyone's learning style. Small Group Tuition: Allows for peer interaction, which can benefit collaborative learning and discussions.

The choice between home, online, or small group Psychology tuition in Lisburn depends on your preferences, budget, and the student's specific educational needs. Each option has advantages and disadvantages, so it's essential to consider these factors when deciding.
